Coincidencely, my parents were on vacation at the West coast as well. They were travelling from LA to this quilt festival thing in Sisters, OR. My mom is a hardcore quilt fanatic. Most of my family members agree it's worse than a crack addiction, and about twice as costly. Anyway, so two days after Val's birthday party, my parents drove up to Olympia, WA. After introducing my parents to sushi on the first night, we went to meet Kate's dad in Gig Harbor. We had a very good lunch and then strolled around Gig Harbor, and paid a visit to Kate's dad's office and his yacht.

Left to right: My parents, yours truly, Kate, and her dad and stephmom Laurie.

At night we celebrated Valerie's actual birthday and we had a lovely dinner, with barbecued salmon, salad and the works.

Kate's mom, Valerie.
The next day, we went to pay a visit to my good friend Bridget and Ruth in Seattle, but we explored the city before going over to their house for a very nice dinner. We did touristy things, visited the market at the waterfront, famous for its flying fishes. Walked to the Space Needle and hung around downtown.

On the last day of my parents' visit, we went to visit the Capitol building in Olympia...

Yes, I am pretty fond of my new Oakleys. :D

Congratulations! I suppose I am not suppose to know anything in order to congratulate you, but I was looking at your journal with our geoduck project in mind. I happenend upon the second entry. I am trying this site out thinking I really like the format for displaying pictures. I understand you need a webhost in order to display pictures. What do you use?
Hope you are having fun in Croatia, though your mind is elsewhere.
See ya!

Thank you for your comment. :) I'm glad to hear you enjoy reading my journal.
I usually upload pics to the webspace that came with my internet connection, but it is getting pretty full these days, so I turn to http://www.photobucket.com for image hosting in stead. It gives you 20MB worth of free hosting, and it's very popular among LJ users and other bloggers.
Best of luck on your project... if you need any help, don't hesitate to send me an email. :)
Have a good one!
